PsychTicipate
PsychTicipate is a portmanteau of “psychology” and “participate”: It is our goal to motivate people to participate in psychological research.
We want to offer researchers a platform to present their studies to a diverse group of participants.
Thus, we provide a hub connecting researchers and the interested public.

Psychological Studies
Psychology is concerned with how people feel, think and behave. This can be about social relations like group processes or personality differences, or about perceptual processes such as the perception of color. In doing so, psychological research often strives to make statements that apply to a larger group than has been studied.
An example to illustrate this is an election. Here, one tries to predict the result in advance by asking a representative group of people who they would vote for if there were an election next week.
From this sample, conclusions are drawn about all eligible voters. The crucial point for the accuracy of the prediction is often whether the sample was representative, that is, how well the relevant characteristics of the population (= all eligible voters) are reflected in the sample (= people surveyed).
Many studies in psychology are conducted with psychology students as participants.
This helps, but does not suffice as the transferability of the results to all of us – that is, people of different ages, at different stages in life, with different living conditions – suffers, because only a small fraction of us are well represented by a sample of psychology students.
Research, however, should include a diverse sample in order to achieve robust results that hold true for diverse people. And we want to foster this.
